To export your KuCoin history for taxes, sign in on the website, open the Order Center and click Export. Create one export for each data type you used (spot, margin, convert, deposits and withdrawals, fiat), one year at a time. When KuCoin notifies you, download the files from Recent Exports. KuCoin allows 20 reports per month and keeps each download link for 30 days.

Before you start

Step by step: export from the Order Center

These steps follow KuCoin's help article "How to Export Trade History on KuCoin" (updated July 2026).

  1. Sign in at kucoin.com and open the Order Center.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Select the data type: spot orders, margin orders, convert orders, deposit/withdrawal records or fiat records.
  4. For spot history, choose the market (all markets), the time range (up to one year) and the time zone. On a master account, you can include sub-account trades.
  5. Click Confirm.
  6. Wait for the SMS, email or on-site message that says the file is ready.
  7. Go to Orders > Export > Recent Exports and click Download.
  8. Repeat for every data type and every year you need.

Choose .csv for tax software. If you downloaded .xlsx by mistake, KuCoin says you can convert it yourself, but a fresh CSV export is safer because spreadsheet apps can reformat dates and long numbers.

Which files your tax report needs

You usedExport
Spot tradingSpot orders
Convert (one-click swaps)Convert orders: these are trades too, and taxable disposals in most countries
MarginMargin orders
Deposits from and withdrawals to other walletsDeposit/withdrawal records, to match transfers
Buying with a card or bank transferFiat records: often your first purchases and your cost basis
Futures, Earn, trading botsCheck the Export window for these products; if they are not listed, ask KuCoin support for the records

The last row matters. KuCoin's help article lists five data types; if you also used futures, Earn products or bots, confirm their history is in your files before you calculate anything.

Use the API instead

Many tax tools connect to KuCoin by API key. Create a key with read-only (General) permission, never trading or withdrawals, and protect it with a passphrase. Do not import the same period both by API and CSV.

Check the files before you upload

What KuCoin does not do for you

KuCoin gives you raw records. It does not calculate gains under your country's rules, and it cannot know what you paid for coins you deposited. KuCoin's own tax reporting page points users to third-party crypto tax software for that step.

Turn the export into a tax report

With one or two years of spot trades, you can work in a spreadsheet. Add converts, margin, deposits from Binance or a wallet like MetaMask, and software saves you from matching each transfer by hand.

FAQ

How far back can I export KuCoin history?

KuCoin's help page says exports support data from September 16, 2017, with up to one year per export.

Why is my KuCoin export missing some orders?

The export only includes filled or partially filled orders. Canceled orders never traded, so they are not needed for taxes. If a filled trade is missing, contact KuCoin customer service, as its help page advises.

Is KuCoin Convert taxable?

In most countries, yes. Converting one coin to another disposes of the first coin, which is a taxable event in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
